Getting Desperate Or Just Fun – Online Dating
Well after trying pretty hard to go it alone and having zero success, I thought I’d chuck my hat into the ring of online dating.
I signed up for eHarmony and Lavalife last week. I have quickly realized that they are two different creatures.
eHarmony has their compatibility profile which you must go through to see your matches. I answered all the questions as accurately as possible and it wasn’t long before the ‘matches’ started rolling in. Sorry to say but the first two I opened looked much more like men than women, but I guess it’s all about the compatibility thing. But maybe I’m just shallow or think too highly of my own good looks, but I can’t see myself with someone so darn fugly. Hate me if you like, but I’d rather be up front and honest than lie just for the sake of appearances. There are a couple of others I have been exchanging messages with and I will just have to see where it ends up.
Lavalife like most online dating services have some foreign scammers looking for stupid gullible horny single men. I might be stupid at times, and I am certainly horny, but I’m not gullible. Far too many women send messages saying how hot I am, and that they want to get to know me if only I email them at their Russian email address… So use your common sense and resist the urge to go for the first pretty thing taking interest in you! Lavalife does do a good job at clearing out the scammers.
I did meet one woman from Lavalife last week and I thought it went fairly well. She was small and cute, she was displaying all the right body language and was very open with her talkative nature, but it’s been a week and after trying twice to contact her I’ve heard squat. She called me the same night we went out to say she had a good time and wanted to see me again. Oh well, holding pattern for me.
